Struggling To Find Ourselves

Well, it’s still a little early to tell if that’s what it’s going to be, since it’s not even noon yet, but I’ve got a good start on it being at least a halfway productive day!!!  No appointments today for anybody…No shopping that we are going to do unless it’s after I pick my boy up after school.  So basically, it’s a stay-home-and-try-to-get-caught-up-on-things day!!!  It is MUCH needed as today is the first day I have felt almost human this week.  My son decided to share his cold with me…wasn’t that sweet?  He is kind of the road to recovery…he still has a nasty cough and some congestion, but that’s about it.  I’m just glad it’s ALMOST Christmas break!!!  That will HOPEFULLY give him a chance to get completely over it before school starts again.

We have SOOOOOO much planned over Christmas break!!!  It should be a REALLY fun time for us, although I have NO doubts that it will go too fast!!!

Read my Bible for the first time in 2 or 3 days.  Just haven’t been reading because I haven’t felt good.  Kind of made up for it some this morning, though, and might make up some more ground before the day is out.

Yep, we got a couple of inches of snow last night.  It’s made the neighborhood a white Winter wonderland.  Even the roads weren’t in to bad of shape when I took my son to school this morning!!!  According to the weather report, though, I guess it’s supposed to get kind of nasty later this afternoon, though, with some freezing drizzle on top of all of this nice, white, cold snow.  THAT could make things interesting!!!

Saw an acquaintance in passing today.  I hadn’t seen him since his Mother’s funeral 3 or 4 weeks ago.  He seemed to be doing okay, though that can probably be debated since he was with his work crew when I saw him this morning.  It was nice to see him, even if we didn’t get a chance to talk!!  At least I know he’s still surviving!!!  Keep praying for him and the rest of his family, I guess is about all I can do at this point in time!!

Well, it’s been a halfway productive day, though it doesn’t really seem like it.  I guess what we got done is proof enough.  Maybe that explains why I’m tired tonight?  The fact that it WAS a day of getting stuff done and taking care of some personal stuff and some stuff that has been needing taken care of?  I didn’t get as much done as I was hoping to, especially here on the computer, but I WAS able to spend ALOT of time taking care of another important project, so that DEFINITELY makes up for it!!

Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow yet.  Another day of getting stuff done here at home, basically, and spending some time relaxing before we embark on the beginning of another week of school and appointments and such.

Yep, that’s what this is, I think.  NOW the trick will be to STAY enthused about the day after daylight!!!

I’ve been up for hours already.  Just couldn’t sleep, so after laying in bed awake for better than an hour, I decided I might as well get up and do something constructive!!!  So I got up and read some out of my Bible and another “religious” type book.  Then I got on here, and have been doing NUMEROUS things that need done, including earning some money!!!  Another while, and I’ll have to get my son up and get him ready to go to school.  Then I’ll have to come back and see about getting some dinner started and some more done around the house here, like starting laundry and dishes.  I’ll have a couple of errands to run about mid-morning or so, and check on my Sister.  Not too many hours after that, it will be time to go get my son from school and get him ready to go to his Father’s for the weekend.  Then it’ll be do dinner, and feed the animals.  As if that’s not enough to do today, I also need to do some MORE computer stuff, and help my Sister with two or three things on the computer.  Sounds kind of like a busy day to me!!!

It’s about time to go get my son from school, so I think that’s all the needless rambling I’m going to do for now.

I just went down my sidebar and counted how many books we’ve read so far this year.  Of course, I need to update it again because we’ve read another 15 or 20 that aren’t on there.  But we have read 39, I believe.  We haven’t done too bad, I don’t think, considering how many appointments we’ve had this year and such!!!  Between my son and I, we tend to read ALOT!!!  But, as I have tried to teach him, reading is a WONDERFUL thing to be able to enjoy, as well as being a NECESSITY in today’s society!!!

When was the last time YOU enjoyed a good book?

We just finished the end of the first 9 weeks at the public school my son goes to.  He, of course, is doing SUPER great, academically!!!  The only problem he’s got socially is being TOO social….*L*

I’ve been having him read extra here at home, and do some extra math and such, as well as review his phone number and address and such when we get the chance.  It hasn’t been on a REAL regular basis, so far, but things SHOULD calm down a little bit in our lives over the next few weeks, so we are hoping we can be a bit more consistent.  Only time will tell, though!!

Not much new is going on around here the last few weeks.  We are kept busy with appointments and schooling, for the most part.

The neighborhood seems to be caught up with preparations for Winter.  The weather we have been having the last couple of weeks has been downright BEAUTIFUL!!!  But, as this morning which was down to almost 40 degrees reminded us, that probably won’t last too much longer!!!  Of course, it IS almost the middle of October, so I guess we can’t expect it to stay 65 degrees during the day all year, can we?

I think I just stuck that last personal entry in some categories that it didn’t belong in….*shrugs*…Oh well, I guess I’ll find time one of these days to go back through and recategorize my entries and get them all where they belong.

School for my boy is going pretty well.  Can’t say much about the academic progress, but he is loving it socially, like I knew he would.  Too bad he’s not at school JUST to socialize and that his academics has to fall behind where I have him while he’s there.  We still do quite a bit here at home, just so he will not lose the skills that I’ve already taught him that they aren’t using in the public school yet.  Overall, he’s doing GREAT!!!!

Yep, I would have to say that it’s been way to long since I’ve been in here on a regular basis.  Things have been so busy with appointments and everything that I have been letting the time on the computer slide quite a bit more than I probably should.

Has anyone noticed that the days are going by WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY to fast?  We are almost into October already.  It’s kind of hard to believe, if you ask me.  It seems like only last month that I was helping some people do their tax returns for the year.
