Struggling To Find Ourselves

….VERY slowly for furniture for the house that we moved into a few months ago.  We want it to be decent furniture that adds to the place.  Alot of the furniture that’s out there is what we call “modern furniture“, but we are looking for something a bit more….old fashioned…rustic-looking. We’ve got hardwood floors in most of our rooms, and we would like something, furniture-wise, that will compliment the floors, as well as the curtains I am making that have a nature scene on them.

….When we bought our newest refrigerator here about 4 or 5 months ago, I was a little upset that the ones that we liked all had ice makers in them.  I had never had an ice maker in my fridge before, but I had gotten GOOD at making ice the old fashioned way….in ice cube trays.  I saw no need for an ice maker.  They just take up space in the freezer that I could and would RATHER use for food or homemade ice cream or something like that.  But, as it turns out, when we got our new fridge a few months ago, we ended up getting one with an ice maker in it.  And, wouldn’t you know it?  It was one of those models that’s not designed to be taken out.  Soooooooo, I decided that it was there…taking up VALUABLE freezer space, so why not put it to use?  So we did.  Now, I still don’t know much about ice makers, other than they make ice, and some take a MWF filter and some don’t, but I DO like the option of having ice ALL the time!!! We’ll see if the ice maker can keep up with our ice useage this Summer, though!!!

I recently had a friend of mine tell me that he had told his parents when he was a teenager that he wanted a motorcycle.  Their response?  Of course, I was interested in their response, because I have a son who will soon be getting up to that age.  He told me that they had told him that he was going to be the one cleaning the blood off of it.  And yes, they did find him his first motorcycle, and yes, it DID have blood on it.  I often wonder if the guy that had the motorcycle before my friend needed a motorcycle accident lawyer?  Thankfully, my friend apparently hasn’t needed on, and is no longer a fan of motorcycles!!!

Okay, MY question for this evening is:  Just WHO decides what is “affordable”?  You see advertisements ALL the time for affordable mortgages, affordable health insurance, affordable this and affordable that.  Is what is “affordable” to you still affordable to me?  THAT’S not always the truth, and I think that those of us out here in the real world already KNOW that!!  So, my question again is:  Just WHO decides what is “affordable”?  I would DEFINITELY like to meet this person at some point, and have a nice, little chat with them….and POSSIBLY give them a piece of my mind, too!!!

Have you noticed how many switches control our lives these days?  We’ve got light switches of various sizes, shapes and colors.  We’ve got rocker switches on our vehicles. We’ve got switches on our reclining chairs to turn the heat and/or massager on.  We’ve got switches on our computers, switches on our house phones and cell phones, switches on the fax machine and copying machine, switches on our electric razors, switches on this….switches on that…..I think one of these days I might just count the number of switches that I see in one day.  How about you?

Okay, I’m NOT too sure, but I think the words cheap health insurance are a contradiction of terms.  There is NOTHING “cheap” about health insurance…..OR visits to the doctor WITHOUT health insurance.  Frankly, if your place of employment doesn’t provide health insurance, as silly as it may sound, I’m NOT too sure that it’s even worth having health insurance for most of us.  The chances of us being injured or ill enough to be in the hospital and have multi-umteen-thousand tests run to make the monthly payments worthwhile on health insurance premiums are like……astronomical.  Any opinions on the subject?

….Get me started on some days…..weight loss and weight loss supplement.  They say obesity is skyrocketing, especially among children.  And they wonder why?  “What has changed that has caused this”, they ask?  “It’s an epidemic”, they say….and I agree with that.  What has changed, though, is the fact that ALOT of the “overweight” children don’t get outside hardly at all because they are either eating or sitting in front of the computer or the game system.  Sometimes they do both at the same time.  Did you know that they no long have JUST the “average hours of television watched”?  They now have the “average hours of television watched” AND the “average screen hours”, in which they include computer usage and game system usage.  Is that like bad or what?  I am SOOOOOO glad that I, as a first time parent, put a limit on the television, and computer and game system time that my child was allowed from the time he was BORN!!!  It’s been a whole lot easier for me to have that standard already, now that my child is getting up into grade school, than to have to try to incorporate a limit on “screen hours” now!!!

….Self conscious sometimes and adult acne doesn’t help.  General society’s attitude doesn’t help, either.  What ever happened to people being accepting of someone else, and accepting them for their personality….or skills….or whatever…instead of how they look, or the flaws that they’ve got?  It is attitudes like the general public seems to have that, in MY mind, will make it impossible for us all to band together like people used to when the chips were down.  Why has the attitude in general society changed SOOOOO much over the last several decades?

Some people are so self conscious about the way they look that they have a hard time going out in public.  Of course, the attitude of most people in general society today seems to be that you have to have perfect clothes on the perfect body with perfect skin, and never have any problems on top of that.  Well, for those of us that might be self conscious, they have made a proactiv acne solution to try to help us face the world.  Give it a try and see how it works for you!!!  It might be the easiest thing you’ve done in a long time!!!

Okay, I thought this was an interesting question that I ran into….”What is hgh?”  Is it a word?  Not like any I’ve ever seen.  Is it an abbreviation?  More than likely, but for what?  High Gluten Husks?  How about Heavenly Glory’s Highness?  Hmmmmm….How about Have Good Hay?  Horses Go Higher?  Higher Go Horses?  Interesting, don’t you think?  Do YOU know what “hgh” could stand for?
