Struggling To Find Ourselves

Hey, LOOK!!!!  I’m back again!!!  Can you believe that?  And it’s not even going to have a link in it, either!!!  HOW do ya’ll rate?….*L*

LOTS going on right now.  Have been trying to stay on top of everything.  It’s been…challenging, to say the least…especially the last few days!!!

We got MRI results back on my knee, which I twisted over two weeks ago and went to the doctor about.  According to the nurse that called me yesterday, I didn’t tear anything…it’s just a sprain….*dry look*  I’m not too convinced, for a couple of reasons.  #1:  It’s not getting much better.  After two weeks, you’d think there would be a marked improvement of SOME sort, and there’s not.  #2:  I have wondered before if the local radiologist at our hospital got their degree from a cracker jack box.  Anyway, I guess we’ll see what the next couple of weeks bring, and go from there.  I guess it’s a good thing I haven’t been looking for a job, or have a job outside the home at this point, because my knee probably wouldn’t allow me to work anyway.

I have had two gifts given to me this week that I have never had given to me before.  One of them was a Bible from the church across the street for joining the church.  It was from the ladies of the church.  One of those nice ones with the family tree and marriage records in the front of it….The only thing I find wrong with it is that it is a King James Version, and I don’t generally speak Elizabethan English….*L*  But, I WILL use it, nonetheless.

The other gift was a bottle of perfume….name brand perfume.  Talk about a pleasant surprise!!!  I asked the person who gave it to me how much it cost.  Their comment was “Does it matter?”  I told them that it DID matter, because I was the type that, when I am given something I MIGHT like, I’d like to know how expensive it is, so I will know whether I can afford it or not.  They didn’t tell me the price on it, even with my logic….*LOL*  Of course, one bottle of perfume SHOULD last quite a while, even if I wear some every day, so I guess we’ll cross the bridge of getting more when we get there.  Kind of flattered me to be given perfume…..what’s that saying?  “Flattery will get you everywhere”?  Well, I can’t say it will get you EVERYWHERE with me…..but it IS a nice thought!!!  THANK YOU to the person who gave me the perfume!!!

Well, enough rambling for now, me thinks….have to get out of this chair for a bit and relieve my knee some.  You all take care and have a blessed day!!

Someone asked me not too long ago if I had ever been to Las Vegas, Nevada.  I told them that I had been there MANY times for various reasons.  Of course, the last time was several years ago, and it was before the Stratosphere hotel had been built.  Doesn’t that sound like a kind of cool place to visit?  Just to see what the building looks like?  Ahhhhh, well, if I’m going to go back to Nevada in the future, Las Vegas would NOT be one of my first stops.  There is sooooooo much to see and do in other parts of the state!!!  And ALOT of those other activities are  a little more “family friendly” that a casino/hotel.  As the Mother of a 7-year-old boy, I am ALWAYS thinking about “family friendly” atmospheres and activities for us to do, whether we are thinking about going on vacation or just staying in our neck-of-the-woods and playing tourist.

Cell phones, like other smaller electronics, seem to rule the world these days.  It seems ALMOST everyone has one.  For some people, their cell phone is like a lifeline….they wouldn’t know what to do without it.  For others, it’s a mode of contacting someone if their car breaks down or in other emergencies….or for certain other people to be able to contact them when they are away from the house phone.  Cell phones can be confusing though, when you go to buy one.  You have SOOOOO many choices:  locked phone and unlocked phone, “smart” phone and the alternative which, in MY opinion would have to be a “dumb” phone, ones with keyboards and ones with just a dialing keypad.  When you go to get your next cell phone, shop carefully, and make sure you understand the features and limitations of the phone you are looking at.  Some of the limitations can be a pain in the rear end, if you don’t realize they are limited in that way until after you sign the contract and get them home.

With the last couple of visits to see my friendly neighborhood family doctor, the impact of not having health insurance is once again hitting home.  We have always made due before when we were not fortuneate enough to have insurance, and we will this time, but getting medical care and getting the bill paid is SOOOOOO much easier with insurance.  One of the ones that I have been looking at is something called Blue Advantage. It looks like a decent policy, if you were looking to purchase health insurance.

When you are travelling, it’s a GOOD idea these days to check out the travel deals that you can find on-line!!  Sometimes you can save a whole BUNCH of money, if you just use the convenience of the internet to purchase your plane or bus ticket and/or motel and/or rental car.  Sometimes, you can find GREAT deals on the surrounding areas too, so you get discounts to tourist attractions if you make your arrangements on-line.  How great is that!!!

Oh, my!!!  There are SOOOOOO many drugs and diet pills out there that it’s VERY difficult to keep up with all of the pharmaceutical happenings these days!!!  They are having new approved drugs and such on a DAILY basis that are being added to the public’s options when they need drugs and diet pills.  Among some of the more popular ones today are Phenphedrine and Lexapro, Loratab and Darvacet, as well as a NUMBER of others.  Remember when YOU go to the pharmacy next, see if you can get YOUR prescriptions in a generic form…..they are sometimes MUCH cheaper, especially if you don’t have insurance!!!

I’ve heard it said that I’m “cheap”.  Now that brings about the debate within myself some days as to whether I really AM “cheap”….or just “inexpensive”.  Sometimes cheap is good, I suppose, but inexpensive is ALWAYS a good thing, in my opinion.  It’s true that when I shop for stuff, I DON’T do “cheap” normally…..though I am almost ALWAYS looking for inexpensive.  Sooooo, I guess the question is:  Do I want cheap memory sticks? Or inexpensive memory sticks?  Oh my, what a decision some days!!!

I have moved alot in my short lifetime, and I know there are LOTS of “moving companies” out there that claim they are the best.  I’m not sure about you, but personally, I would just as soon do the moving myself, so I KNOW how everything is packed and that it’s packed to MY satisfaction.  Some call themselves “moving companies Los Angeles“, while others just call themselves “moving companies”.  All in all, I guess that would be a nice, easy way to move, IF you had the money and inclination to do it that way.  Each to his own, I suppose.

Seems like you can find a site to review EVERYthing these days on the internet.  There are sites for surveys reviews, weight loss pills reviews, television show reviews, credit card reviews, toy reviews, computer and electronic reviews, new car reviews, and MUCH more.  I HAVE to admit that SOMEtimes, those reviews are a useful tool in making a decision about a certain item.  At other times, though, they are just another something that’s meant to cloud your judgement and confuse the consumer even more.
