Safety
March 6th, 2009Her safety had never really occurred to her….until now. As she stood, clinging to the vertical rock that she was climbing, she realized that, in the haste of her mood, she had forgone the regular safety equipment of mountain climbing and was now in a VERY precarious position. She was now about 500 feet above the ground with NOWHERE to go except up, and that did not look to be any easier than going back down without losing her handholds and falling. She realized now, as she clung to the rock in front of her and felt the perspiration soaking through her cotton shirt, that she really SHOULD pay more attention to her own safety, rather than just going with the emotion of the moment and doing things without thinking.
