Directions To Our Father’s House

March 30th, 2009

This is a little something that Dad found awhile back, and brought home because he thought I’d like it!!!  Enjoy!!!

Make a Right onto Believeth Blvd.

Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ.

There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled water.

When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight.

You are on the King’s Highway - Heaven-bound.

Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and One for the Holy Ghost.

Then exit off onto Grace Blvd.

From there, make a Right turn on Gospel Lane.

Keep Straight and then make another Right on Prayer Road.

As you go on your way, yield not to the traffic on Temptation Avenue.

Also, avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END.

Pass up Envy Drive and Hate Avenue.

Also, pass Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Blvd.

However, you have to go down Long-suffering Lane, Persecution Blvd. and Trials & Tribulations Avenue.

But that’s all right, because VICTORY Street is straight ahead!!

“The End”

March 20th, 2009

Well, folks, I think that’s about all the damage I care to do on here for now.  Sooooooo, in the spirit of all of the books we’ve read lately, we’re going to say

“THE END”

and call it a night.

Have a good weekend, all, and God Bless!!!

Gift Idea?

March 20th, 2009

I’ve been thinking about something different for the birthdays that I have coming up of my son and my 2 nieces.  They are all kind of getting out of the “toy” stage, in certain cases, so my Sister and I have been brain-storming some new gift ideas.  All three of them are kind of in the “artsy” kind of stage, where they like coloring and doing arts and crafts projects, so I’ve been bouncing around several different ideas.  One of the possibilities that I’ve been bouncing around is getting them some custom rubber stamps. We may live in a small town, but we ARE fortunate enough to have a rubber stamp store in the county, and the internet is FULL of websites that sell all different kinds of rubber stamps.  And, it would be something that my Sister and I never had much opportunity to get into when we were younger, so it would be a learning experience for ALL of us.

God Bless!!!

Kids Say The Darndest Things!!!

March 20th, 2009

My son and I have had some….interesting….discussions here lately.  Some of them have just been about whatever has been going on, others have been about books we’ve been reading, and still others have been about the Bible and religion.

One of our conversations about the Bible here about a month or so ago was about the verse in Matthew that says that you are supposed to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.  When my son asked me what that meant, I told him that, normally, the ones that persecute you are your enemies, which basically meant that we are to pray for our enemies.  He thinks about it for just a minute, and then he says “That’s not right!”.  I explained to him that it was a VERY difficult thing to do sometimes, but that’s what Jesus wants us to do…pray for our enemies.  He repeated “That’s not right!”…I kind of chuckled at him and told him that we didn’t have to like it, but that’s what Jesus/God wants us to do here on Earth, and that’s what we should do.  He repeated again that that was not right, and I asked him if he was willing to tell God that that wasn’t right when he got to Heaven.  He didn’t even hesitate before he said “Yeah!!! ‘Cause that’s not right!!!”…*LOL*  I can see my son going up to God in Heaven and saying that they needed to have a discussion because “That’s not right!!!”…*L*

Oh, the joy that children bring into our houses!!!
God Bless!!!

Changes

March 20th, 2009

There have been ALOT of changes in general lifestyle of society over the last several decades, and even in the last 10 or 15 years.  One of those MAJOR changes in the last 100 or 150 years or maybe even 200 years is the “need” to diet.  They say that obesity in ALL age groups, including INFANTS, is on the rise and is rising faster than it ever has in recorded history.  Now, I MAY be wrong, but I think ALOT of the problem is the lack of activity in society in this day and age.  200 years ago, they didn’t have ANY need for fat burners and such because the lifestyle then was FULL of “manual labor”. From sunup to sundown, everyone in the family was doing what needed to be done and there wasn’t any sitting on the couch, watching T.V. for hours at a time, while you were eating cupcakes or doughnuts or potato chips.  There wasn’t any coming home from school, and sitting in front of the T.V. or the game system for the kids….they actually had chores to do, and they ACTUALLY were required to exert some energy doing them sometimes.  As if you couldn’t tell, I am a BIG advocate for physical activity and being outside, running around or taking care of things that need to be done, riding your bike, or even taking a walk.  I will CONTINUE to be a big advocate for this, and I am ALSO a BIG advocate for getting the proper amount of rest!!!  Back 200 years ago, there were no children staying up until 8 or 9 or 10 or 11 at night because they were required to get up early in the morning to get stuff done before school and such.  Another reason would be that they didn’t have electric lights back then….so, it was a habit to use the best of your daylight and go to bed “with the chickens”.  Can’t do much in the dark….That kind of lifestyle would DEFINITELY have it’s advantages!!!

God Bless!!

Spontaneous

March 20th, 2009

I had a friend ask me several months ago when the last time was that I did something “spontaneous”.  I told her I felt like my life was “spontaneous”.  I rarely have any “set” plans…..I DON’T make too many plans that can’t be changed on the spur of the moment….We just kind of fly by the seat of our pants most days and pray God is in control and makes things turn out alright.  Well, I did something that I’m not sure would be classified “spontaneous” or not yesterday.  It was DEFINITELY something that I hadn’t done in a long time, though….ever actually.  I went to www.kcm.org and loaded up their “BVOV All Word Radio” and listened to service after service yesterday and most of the night last night.  I was feeling kind of…..shall we say….down? yesterday…I wasn’t feeling too hot because of a headache, and I just felt like I needed a word from God.  Can you imagine having the word of God preached to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?  After several hours of services, I was feeling better, at least in some ways!!!  And, I HAVE to say that the services they were running were EXACTLY what I needed to hear!!!  I NEED to see about getting a copy of them, so I can listen to them again!!!  It was VERY uplifting, spiritually, and I thank God for the internet and the ability to be able to do stuff like that!!!

God Bless!!!

Travel

March 20th, 2009

I’ve had the opportunity to travel to ALOT of places in my lifetime, and I HAVE to say that one of the places that I wouldn’t mind going back too HAS to be the Carolinas and Tennessee.  I LOVE the Smoky Mountains!!!  I’ve never had the opportunity to do it yet, but I would LOVE to take advantage of one of the Outer Banks rentals deals that I get in my e-mail occasionally!!!  That would be SUCH a COOL vacation for my son and I one of these days!!!  I’m SURE we’d have all KINDS of fun and get to see ALOT of interesting, not to mention educational and COOL things on the way there!!!….ONE of these days…SOON!!!

God Bless!!!

Another Day….

March 20th, 2009

…Another…..who knows what we have another of at this point?

Life has been kind of busy around here the last couple of weeks, with Spring Break and BEAUTIFUL weather, and LOTS of things to do outside.  I HAVE to be honest….I haven’t been spending as much time on here, even when my son has been at school during the day as I should have been.  I guess I’ll just have to use some of these rainy days that are coming up to catch up on stuff on here, huh?  Lord KNOWS I have enough that I NEED to do on here to keep me busy for all the rainy days that we get and THEN some!!!

More later…..God Bless!!!

Best Buy?

March 20th, 2009

In this day and age, it seems like EVERYONE is out to get the best deal they can.  I am no different.  But, the only question that I get left with is:  Where CAN you get the best deal?  Everywhere you look, you see “Get the best buy here”.  You can find some TREMENDOUS deals on the internet, sometimes even better than what you can find in an actual store!!!  Don’t underestimate the power of the internet!!!

God Bless!!!
