Struggling To Find Ourselves

One thing that has become part of our daily lives in the last few months is a resume.  Now, depending upon what kind of job you are looking for, you need to modify your resume to highlight your skills in that area.  We have found NUMEROUS ways and NUMEROUS sites to help you put together a resume, and in the course of all of this, we have found literally HUNDREDS of sites were you can post your resume for employee seekers.  We all probably know about the well advertised job sites like monsterjobs and yahoojobs, but I found one this morning to help you put together logistics resumes, and to help you find a job/career in the transportation and logistics industry. How COOL is that!!!

As my Sister and I embark on new jobs and new careers, we have been bouncing the idea of getting free insurance quotes around. Not only are we looking at more life insurance, but also self employment health insurance and such. Some hospitalization insurance isn’t a bad idea, either, if we get that far.  Maybe even rental insurance for my Sister, since she is renting the place she’s living in right now, and we are DEFINITELY looking at house insurance and such!!!  There are SOOOOOOO many choices for insurance out there, though, that we haven’t been jumping the gun just yet.  We have been doing some research and talking to companies to see where we can get the best benefits for our money!!!

Yep, I think that we are in the last few days of our “cold” weather!!!  Signs of Spring are ALL over our neighborhood now!!!  Flowers are coming up.  One of our neighbors even has some yellow daffodils already in full bloom.  The trees are budding out nicely.  The grass is starting to grow faster, and it has REALLY greened up with the warmth the last two days!!!  The animals are all shedding or molting, whichever they do.  The ducks are laying eggs, and the males are fighting over who gets which female.  I would have to say that Spring is here!!!

That seems to be a matter of opinion, depending upon who you talk too.  I know people who have taken advantage of a franchise opportunity, and are making pretty good money at it. But then again, the cost to get started has been the downfall of some other people I know.  And sometimes, the “opportunities” not being in the right area to actually make money is the downfall for some too, I think.  Sooooo…..I guess it just depends upon where you’re at, and what kind of opportunity you are getting in to that decides whether or not it’s going to be a money maker for you…..Lord knows that there are LOTS of those franchise opportunities out there that ARE making money!!!

….Our reading list again in the next few days, when I get a few minutes.  We haven’t done too bad for the month of February and with everything going on!!!  And, wouldn’t you know it?  It’s time to return books to the library and get some more today or tomorrow too!!!

I’m going to be changing my sidebar again too in the near future by adding some new information and buttons and by taking some off, probably.

You may not believe this, coming from a lady, but fixing mechanical problems on older vehicles is one of my hobbies.  Of course, in this day and age, people look at you kind of strange when you’re a lady and you go into the auto parts store and know what you are talking about when you are requesting whatever part you need this month.  But, like ALOT of other areas in my life, I’ve learned to be PROUD of the fact that I’m capable of going and buying spark plugs, or and engine overhaul kit or coilovers or whatever I need, and being able to put it on too!!!  As one of my favorite movies from the ’80’s says in one place….”The world is what you make of it….If it doesn’t fit, you make adjustments.”

Yep, I don’t know how many entries I’ve done on here with that title, but there’s another one for you!!!  Nothing REAL major…just the little things that creep up on you in day-to-day life.

The weather was WONDERFUL yesterday and the day before, but today, we are about 40 degrees cooler than yesterday at this time.  And people are wondering why everyone has congestion and is getting pneumonia and such!!!

At a time when the “expert” analysts say that the “economy is down”, the being the one to have the finance jobs of the household can sometimes make you think twice about what the “experts” say.  There’s ALOT of people that don’t even really notice that the “economy is down”, especially out here in farm country.  Now, honestly, I’m not sure if the economy is up, down, or sideways for that matter.  Maybe an on-line course for a CPA or tax professional might make a difference?  Who knows?  But it couldn’t hurt the career outlook any!!!

Well, folks, I think it’s about time to run….again!!!  I have to run to a nearby town and do some errands and such.  Thankfully, it SHOULD be a short jaunt today, unlike it turned out to be yesterday.  But, I won’t have much time, maybe a couple of hours, between when I get done with my errands and when I need to go get my son from school, so I may pop back on at another one of the libraries instead of going home for that couple of hours.  It’s ALMOST not worth going home some times when I only have a couple of hours.  I JUST get comfortable at the house after running my errands, and then it’s time to leave again.  And I DO have some computer stuff that I can do here at the libraries, so coming back to the library instead of going home wouldn’t be such a bad thing, maybe.
