Struggling To Find Ourselves

Another trend that some of us REALLY love is the fact that you can order just about ANYTHING on-line these days and have it delivered RIGHT to your door!!!  GOTTA love on-line shopping!!!  You can order anything and everything, if you are willing to dig deep enough to find a website that sells that hard-to-find item.  You can shop on-line for everything from tools to textbooks, from ladders to letter openers, from luggage to lug nuts, from zippers to zebra-striped bath towels, from 8-track tapes and records to hand-crank ice cream makers.  How WONDERFUL the internet is sometimes, when it’s working right!!  And, I’m not sure about YOU, but it’s made MY shopping life a WHOLE lot easier when Christmas and Birthdays come around!!!!

The last day or so has been SOOOOO nice, temperature-wise, compared to what we HAVE been having!!!  And tomorrow and Saturday are supposed to be even warmer!!!  I know ALOT of people that say they are more than ready for Spring temperatures!!!  I just smile when they say that, and tell them that Spring will be here soon, and they just look at me kind of funny.  Can I help it if I notice that the trees are budding with leaves and that the wild geese and ducks have been more active than normal?  Can I help it if my grass is turning greenish and starting to grow JUST a little bit?  Can I help it if the animals are acting a tad weird, and some of them are acting just downright twitterpated (anyone remember “Bambi”?)?  Ahhhhh, Spring IS coming, I can feel it in my bones and I can see it in the world around me!!!  Thank GOD for Spring!!!

There is a trend happening all across the world these days, but especially here in the United States.  Maybe you wouldn’t think it is a “trend” in the regular sense, but that’s what it is in my mind.  The trend is increasing obesity, not only in adults, but in children and even infants.  This is a sad trend, in my opinion, especially where the children and infants are involved, because MOST of the increasing obesity in these age groups is because of lack of activity and exercise and TOO MUCH JUNK FOOD.

Another trend that is happening at the same time as the obesity trend is a trend in weight loss products, from weight loss pills to artificial sweeteners to weight loss drinks and other diet programs.

And to think that 200 years ago, obesity for just about ANY age group was a rarity!!! 

Well, I think I need to go do something else for a bit, so you all take care, and we’ll be back to ramble at you over the weekend or something.  Have a good weekend, and try to stay warm!!!  And just think….Spring and mowing season are JUST around the corner!!!!  (Maybe sooner than some folks think!!!)

It seems like there are quotes for EVERY kind of insurance these days.  I have seen auto insurance quotes, home insurance quotes, renter’s insurance quotes, and such, but I have also seen quotes on pet insurance, and burial insurance, and long-term care insurance.  There’s insurance for your trailers, motorcycles, horses and even your fence.  Do you need cancer insurance, credit card insurance, or even insurance against theft?  My, my!!!  What DIFFICULT decisions to make when you start thinking about insurance!!!

Yep, it’s 2009 already!!!  I am SOOOOO glad that the holidays are over!!!  Why, you ask?  Because they were a milestone for us!!  Get past them, and we have SEVERAL things we can look forward too!!!  There are going to be alot of things happening in our lives this year…some will be small happenings, and others will not be so small.  I believe that they will ALL be for OUR good, though, with the help of God’s promises and a little bit of faith!!!

I wonder how much the Westgate of Yellowstone has changed over the years?  Okay, okay, so it’s supposed to be two separate words.  What can I say?  In the next couple of years, I would LOVE to go back to Yellowstone and see what has changed, and what hasn’t.  It’s been a long time since we’ve been there, and my son never has.  It’s about time he be introduced to an area that I love!!!  We could make a LOT of plans of things to do while on THAT trip!!!  It would do my heart good to see some mountains again, and to breathe some fresh mountain air!!!  Maybe even go trout fishing with my son!!!  Sounds like fun to me!!!

Yep, you guessed it…it’s almost time to be filing tax returns again!!!  A couple of people I know are REALLY looking forward to getting their W-2’s and other necessary tax forms from different places, and getting their returns filed!!!  It’s hard to believe that it’s already that time of year again!!!

We shouldn’t do too bad this year, considering.  The extra money will be NICE!!!  Maybe even put some in a savings account somewhere?  Now, THAT’S a novel idea, isn’t it?

As she wandered the house, she came upon a door that was different from all the others in the hallway.  She slowly opened the door, and found that the room behind the door was COMPLETELY dark.  Her first thought was like a theater with no lights on.  As she stepped into the doorway while holding the door open, she felt first to the right-hand side of the door, and then to the left.  She found the light switch, which is what she was looking for.  As her eyes adjusted to the dim lighting that came on, she realized that the room WAS just like a theater, except for the lack of a popcorn machine outside the door.  There were rows upon rows of home theater seating, and a LARGE screen at the front of the room.  Nothing like being able to see movies in the BEST way possible!!!

…Another dollar….or so the saying goes!!!

I’ve got something that is SUPPOSED to resemble dinner in the crockpot, though whether it’s edible or not is ANYONE’S guess at this point.  It’s one of those “I have some of this and this, so let’s throw them in the crockpot and see what happens” type things.  No, actually, it’s SUPPOSED to be a soup-type thing, but we’ll see how it turns out before I say that it’s DEFINITELY a soup.  Have you ever done that?  Thing you are fixing a soup, and have it turn out more like a stew or something?

My boy is at school, at the moment.  He’s doing pretty good in most areas, and the one’s he’s having difficulties in, we have been working on at home when we’ve got the time and feel like it.

I’ve done SOME Bible reading already this morning.  I don’t know if I’m done for the day or not, though.  We’ll have to see what happens, and what my mood is later.
