I need to update our book list on my sidebar again!!! We’ve been reading almost CONSTANTLY, it seems. But that’s a GOOD thing in more ways than one!!! It will be interesting to see how many books we’ve read this year!!! AND if we continue reading as much NEXT year!!! It’s a GOOD thing our county has a GOOD library system!!! We are VERY frequent regulars at our library here and there throughout the year!!! And we LOVE it!!!

You know, I’ve always thought having a carport would be nice. I could get at least one of the vehicles out of the weather, and not have to worry about de-icing the windshield every time it ices. I’ve seen ALOT of different types of carports over the years. And I can’t really say I’ve found ONE type that strikes my fancy. After we make it official on the paperwork that we are buying this house we are living in, we plan on making some changes to the outbuilding that’s to the North of the side, and maybe we’ll have a carport that we can actually USE? Only time will tell, I guess!!!

Well, here it is…the start of a new week already. We don’t have TOO much planned for this week. An appointment or two, and getting my son back and forth to and from school…and trying to stay out of the rain.
I am about halfway through the book of Exodus on my Bible reading. It’s been going pretty good!!! “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
More later…maybe.

Okay, I have a question for you….just WHAT makes one treatment better than something else? How do you KNOW, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are using THE best acne treatment? I’ve seen advertisements by the dozen saying that THEIR treatment is better than someone else’s. But WHO decides that? Wouldn’t it all depend upon the person USING the treatment? Each person is different….each body is going to react to these treatments differently…Sooooo, on THAT note, I am sorry to inform the advertising world that there IS no “BEST” treatment for everyone. It MIGHT be the best treatment for you…but not for your neighbor. Oh well, such is life in the corporate world, I guess.

A home based business is a dream for some people. To others, they think of it more as a fantasy. I can agree with BOTH sides, to a certain extent. There are SOOOOOO many work-at-home scams out there that it’s VERY difficult to find one that actually WORKS!!! Is there one out there that DOES actually work?…*shakes her head*…I’m not sure. I’d LIKE to think there is, but I haven’t really found one yet. If I find out, though, I’ll let you know.

Fall weather has FINALLY decided to make it’s presence known to us Kansans today. It rained for a better part of yesterday and then started cooling off, temperature-wise after it stopped raining and after dark fell. The wind continued throughout the night, even after the rain quit, but it changed direction, and has been coming out of the North ever since. It’s a GOOD thing we have a line of mature evergreen trees on the North side of the house as a windbreak!!! The wind today had a DEFINITE bite to it that suggested that Winter is thinking about making it’s presence known. Ahhhhh, well…it IS November, I suppose. Most of the people around here are thinking it’s going to be a LONG, hard Winter because of the mild Spring and Summer. I’m beginning to think that it’s going to be a mild Winter, as well. The animals aren’t really showing signs of a full fledged Winter, and neither are the trees. People think I’m nuts for saying things like that, but it won’t be the first time, and it probably won’t be the last either. People don’t put enough store in the animals anymore. The animals KNOW!!! And so do the plants!!!
More later…maybe…

It seems like EVERYTHING these days has a slot for a memory card for extra storage space. Our digital cameras take one type that sometimes is compatible with our printers. Our laptops sometimes also have a slot that is compatible with the one on our digital cameras. Our cell phones take a smaller one, similar to a micro sd card. Sometimes, as I look around at all of this technology and “progress”, I wonder what life would be life without it. Life without computers and cell phones and other technology is a vague shadow in the backs of MOST minds these days, but THOSE were the days when the kids weren’t leaning towards being overweight because they were actually up running around outside with their friends and riding their bike, instead of sitting in front of the television and the game systems and the computers. Ahhhhh, what WOULD life be like for most people if they suddenly had none of the modern technology to rely on?

I am reading the first part of the book of Exodus already in my Bible reading!!! As I was reading to my son tonight before he went to bed, we went over most of the plagues that God had Moses send upon Egypt before Pharoah would let the Israelis leave Egypt on their way to the land that God had promised to give to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I began to wonder what was going through the minds of the nation when Moses and Aaron kept asking Pharoah for permission to leave, and then he denied them, and a plague would come, and Pharoah would change his mind until the plague was gone, and then denied them permission to leave again? I would HAVE to guess that it would be VERY easy to become discouraged in a situation like that, wouldn’t you? Look at it this way: You’re already a slave for someone who’s a brutal, unreasonable person. You ask permission to go worship God, and you’re told you can’t, so God sends these plagues, and the Pharoah says you can go, only to change his mind after the plague has been discontinued. I feel like I’ve been at a place similar to that at several times in my life, and I have to tell you that I HAVE gotten discouraged…sometimes beyond belief. What about you?

In this day and age, it seems like the mailbox is bombarded by ALL sorts of samples and promotional items from ALL sorts of different companies. I know that, sometimes, they aren’t all they are cracked up to be. And yes, sometimes, they get thrown away before they even get opened around here. But, on the other hand, sometimes, the items we are sent are worth their weight in gold for one reason or another. There have been some over the years that I’ve gotten samples of and LOVED!!! But, of course, when I went to buy more of it, I couldn’t find it because it wasn’t on the market yet. And yes, of course, by the time it came out on the market, it wasn’t NEAR as good as the sample I had gotten several months before. Oh well, such is life, I guess. All I can say is: Keep the samples coming, folks, and make them GOOD samples!!!
