Well, folks, I think that’s all, for now. I have to go put some gas in my pick-up, and pick my son up from school here pretty soon. I’d like to make a stop at the Post Office, as well as get a couple of other things done too before I pick my boy up.
You all take care, and we’ll be around, hopefully a little bit more regularly!!! God Bless!!!

When you travel to certain places, you have to have a passport, or so I’m told.
I was asked here a while back if I had a passport. Of course, the answer was no. There ARE several places that DO require passports that I would like to visit with my son when he gets a bit older, but I’m not sure if that will ever happen anyway. Money would be a MAJOR part of whether that happened or not. Also, whether we have the time to travel like that, or not. Only time will tell on whether we will ever be able to travel like that!!!

I just went down my sidebar and counted how many books we’ve read so far this year. Of course, I need to update it again because we’ve read another 15 or 20 that aren’t on there. But we have read 39, I believe. We haven’t done too bad, I don’t think, considering how many appointments we’ve had this year and such!!! Between my son and I, we tend to read ALOT!!! But, as I have tried to teach him, reading is a WONDERFUL thing to be able to enjoy, as well as being a NECESSITY in today’s society!!!
When was the last time YOU enjoyed a good book?

Much to her amazement, the garage looked like it had been ransacked. She knew her husband had never been a “neat freak”, but she had NEVER considered the possibility of THIS much mess.
As she stood in the garage door and looked around her, she saw ALL manner of things that were going to have to be sorted through. And THEN, when it was ALL sorted, she was going to have to figure out what to do with it.
She saw his welding unit just inside the door, screws, bolts and nuts, and ball lock pins strewn across the floor in various sizes and shapes. She saw nails and various hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets and sockets. She saw an Exacto knife laying next to a piece of carpeting on the workbench. She saw breaker bars, extensions, pliers, vice-grips, and needle-nosed pliers. She saw carpenter’s pencils scattered throughout the area. She saw oil filters and fuel filters and air filters. She saw lawn mower tires and his air compressor. Never, in her wildest dream, did she imagine that it would be such a big project to clean up the garage, now that he was gone.

Holy Cow!!! I think I need to start getting in here a TAD more often!!! I seem to ranting about ALOT of stuff today!!!….*LOL* I guess it’s a good thing that I don’t do that very often, isn’t it? With the national average weight of ALL age classes rising rapidly according to recent studies, you would THINK that people would be ready to do SOMETHING to get their weight, AND the weight of their children under control. There are NUMEROUS different things you can try out there, including everything from a dietpill to surgery, as well as good, old fashioned exercise and watching what you eat.
As a Mother, it’s kind of upsetting to ME, for people to say that my child is “underweight” JUST because he doesn’t fall into the “national average”. I know I can’t control what other people say or think, though. All I know is that exercise and watching what we eat has been a CONSISTENT part of our lives since BEFORE my son was born. And I have seen NO reason to change that as he’s gotten older. If he learns how to eat properly and stay active NOW, then, chances are that he will continue that as he gets older!!! I can only thank God that not ALL of us fall into the same “mold” that everyone else is making for us!!!

Well, my Bible reading has been coming along pretty well the last few weeks. I can’t remember when I updated you all on that last, but I am NOW ready to read the LAST 6 or 7 chapters of Revelation. I will, no doubt, have it finished sometime this week!!! Then we get to go back to Genesis and start ALL over!!!
The more I read, the more confidence I have…in God’s Word. The Bible says that God’s Word WILL NOT return to us void…that it WILL go forth and accomplish what it is sent forth to do. The more I read and study the Word, the more I feel that is true. The Word is “a proven help in times of trouble”, and yes, we CAN verify that fact!!!

Allow me to rant and rave about something for a few moments, if you would please?
Have you noticed that when a store advertises a “sale“, that it’s NOT always a TRUE sale? I have experienced this several times over the last few months. I go into a store and see the sale advertisement, or a “sale” sticker for a particular item, so I pick it up. ALOT of them I’ve noticed say something like “limit 2″. Okay, in my mind, that means you are only allowed a maximum of 2, right? Well, I get up to the check-out with this “sale” item, after having picked up only 1, and it rings up as regular price. Upon questioning the cashier about it, the cashier informs me that you have to buy 2 of the same item to get that sale price. Now how lame is that? And no, this is not something I’ve noticed at just ONE store in this area….I’ve noticed it in a few different stores. Tell me….is there something wrong with that scenario, or is it just me?

We just finished the end of the first 9 weeks at the public school my son goes to. He, of course, is doing SUPER great, academically!!! The only problem he’s got socially is being TOO social….*L*
I’ve been having him read extra here at home, and do some extra math and such, as well as review his phone number and address and such when we get the chance. It hasn’t been on a REAL regular basis, so far, but things SHOULD calm down a little bit in our lives over the next few weeks, so we are hoping we can be a bit more consistent. Only time will tell, though!!

We don’t normally have golf balls in my house, because we don’t play golf. We have NO interest in golf. But, there WAS a time when we DID have several golf balls in my house when I was growing up. Can you guess why? They were toys for the cats we had at that time. We had recently moved into a different house, and we were finding golf balls outside in the yard. They looked like they had been there for a LONG time, but a little soap and water made them useable for our cats. Our cats would spend hours batting them back and forth through the house!!! Ahhhhhhh, what memories!!!
