Struggling To Find Ourselves

I think these days, EVERYone is looking for the BEST deal on everything from gasoline to houses, and from groceries to the latest gizmo that they think they can’t live without.  Have you ever wondered if it was possible to get a list of best diet pills, though?  Apparently, it IS possible!!!  I wonder what else they will think up?

….we’ve been doing the last couple of weeks is reading!!!  I’ve started reading my Bible in FULL force again.  I had kind of slacked off for a few weeks there, because of everything else going on….I know…BAD excuse…but away…but I’m back on track and making GOOD progress again!!  I finished the book of Ezekiel last night, and started Daniel this morning.  MOST of the rest of the Old Testament is relatively SHORT books, so it shouldn’t take me too long to finish it.  And then we’ll be bound for the New Testament.  I have to say that my son has REALLY seemed to enjoy having me read the Bible to him again!!!!

Holy Cow!!!!  The internet is actually working for me tonight!!!!  Now I just have to figure out what I needed to do on here and get it done before it decides to stop working again….

Not much happened today…just a lazy Summer day that started WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too early for me.  But I DID use that earliness to my advantage to get some stuff done that I have needed to get done for a few days now!!!  Nothing like starting the day out productive!!!

As she looked at the trophies in her trophy case, and thought about how she had earned each and every one of them, she wondered….”Why?”  Why had she gone to all the trouble of going out of her way to do her best and win these useless things that just sit on a shelf and collect dust?  Why had she taken the time to put all the hours of practice in with each and every horse that had helped her win each one of these trophies, when the horse couldn’t even really share in their triumph?  What did she have to show for all of that work and sweat and tears?  An empty house that was bigger than what she needed…..a life where she was rarely home….Why did she have this house anyway?  Why?

Yep, today was a pretty good day….a GREAT day, even!!!  I can’t say we did anything TOO spectacular….just spent the day together like we normally do.  Don’t ask me why today was any different than some of our mediocre days…it just was.  We didn’t do anything out of the ordinary….we didn’t even GO anywhere out of the ordinary….it was just a good day!!!  And, JUST in case you’re wondering, we DO have more good days than what I talk about in here…..I just haven’t been on the computer too much lately.  And, yes, today was even kind of productive for us too!!!!

Yep, it’s raining again today.  We just got a little under 2 inches of rain earlier in the week, and now it looks like it’s going to be raining most of the day.  Oh, well, at least it’s helping keep the temperatures cooler.  And, things had gotten a bit dry in the last couple of weeks, so we can use it, as long as it doesn’t come in too big of batches at once.

I think I’m going to curl up with a good book here shortly, after I get some laundry and dishes going, and do some other small cleaning projects.  GOOD way to spend a rainy day, unless of course, I decide to go for a walk in the rain.

It’s Summer and it seems that everyone seems to be taking vacations.  Parents sometimes go to see the kids and grandkids…..kids and grandkids sometimes go to see parents….some people are going to see friends that they haven’t seen for a long time….some people just go to be going, and to see people and places and things they haven’t seen lately.  There are places I would LOVE to go, but one of them would require some Hilton Head rentals.  That is pretty country over that way!!!!

….that it’s already the month of July?!?!?  It seems like this year is going SOOOOOO fast!!!  Before you know it, we’ll be filing taxes again!!  Of course, with everything going on in our lives right now, it’s not too surprising that the year is going fast.  What’s that saying?….Time flies when you’re……busy?  Actually, it’s “time flies when you’re having fun”, but anyway.  We’ve had ALOT of fun so far this Summer, with going to the library and the swimming pool and going to various activities that we’ve learned about that were going on around us.

School will be starting early next month, though.  Time to start thinking about putting some money out for school supplies and school clothes, not to mention school fees and lunches.

….replacing some of our old appliances and such, I think.  When it comes time to replace our television, we probably won’t have much choice but to consider getting a new fangled LCD TV.  It seems to me that that is all that’s on the market these days….or at least that’s all I ever seem to see advertised anyway.  Maybe that’s just my imagination, though.
