Books!!!!

June 9th, 2008

As you can see by our sidebar, we’ve been busy reading this year!!!  I need to update that sidebar in the near future, too.  We’ve finished at least one, and started another one, and such.  Expect more to be added to the list over the Summer too!!!  Plan to do ALOT of reading in the next couple of months!!!

There WAS A Time…

June 9th, 2008

….when we couldn’t even DREAM that computer programs would take so much memory space.  I remember our first computer was doing good to use a FEW Megabytes for a hard disk.  And now, they’ve got computers that have soooooo much computer memory that they have had to come out with a Terrabyte.  Some of our computer games for our old computer were “HUGE” at 20Megabytes….and now, the latest game I’ve loaded on this computer suggest 1.4 Gigabytes of hard disk space PLUS space for saved games.  There was a time when we said that we didn’t know what ANYONE would do with a Gigabyte of hard disk space….but now, with graphics so in-depth and life-like, we have GREATLY changed the way we think about computer memory.  Now we think….Where and when can we get some more?

Busy Summer So Far

June 9th, 2008

Yep, that’s what it has been the last couple of weeks, since school let out.  We’ve had some “appointments”, and getting involved in some Summer stuff has kept us busy, as well as continuing to open the “new door” for us a little bit wider.  The weather hasn’t really been cooperating too well for picnics or anything, YET, but with less “appointments” and so forth, that WILL come SOON, you can be sure!!!  Other than that, things are going okay.  We’ve been trying to get into a “Summer Routine”, which we HOPE to accomplish more this week!!!

Thanks to those of you that are still reading!!!  Bear with me while I try to get back into the swing of things and start doing entries more regularly!!…*hugs* to those that normally get them!!!

Credit Cards….

June 9th, 2008

….are a GOOD way to get yourself in trouble, financially, if you’re not careful.  With their promises of 0 balance transfer and “low interest” for an introductory period, they sometimes hide the fees that they charge.  They put those in the fine print, and people don’t always read the “fine print”.  But, of course, if you are “financially literate”, and can handle your money fairly well, then credit cards can be a VERY useful thing!!!  It just depends upon who you are and how you handle the money you’ve already got.  Personally, I TRY to stay away from credit cards, loans and anything else that makes it so I have more money going out every month….but that’s just me.

Wouldn’t It Be Nice…?

June 9th, 2008

….If our memory’s worked as well as a computers’ memory?  I would just LOVE to have some ram to use to pull up various information WHEN I needed it!!!  What if we could erase our memory every time we went to bed, so we wouldn’t remember the problems of the day?  That might not be such a good idea in some cases, but in others, that would be GREAT!!!

Watered Flowers

June 9th, 2008

After a week or two of not too much rain, it has again decided it’s going to rain.  We got right at 2 inches in less than 12 hours last night out here at my place.  It was needed, though, as things had started to dry out too much.  So much for mowing today, me thinks!!!  Oh well….*shrugs*…At least I don’t have to worry about whether to water my flowers outside or not!!!  God seems to be taking GOOD care of that so far this Spring!!!

Have You Ever Wondered….?

June 9th, 2008

….whether there are aliens or not?  If so, have you ever wondered what their life is like?  How much of it is similar to ours?  How much is different?  Do they have “families”, like we do?  Do they need acne treatment?  Do they get sick like we do?  Do they have treatments for sickness and disease?  Are their treatments better than ours?  Are they more primitive than we are?  Or more advanced?  Do they allow “outsiders” to dwell among them?  Wouldn’t it be interesting to know?
