Struggling To Find Ourselves

Struggling To Find Ourselves
In More Ways Than One

Well….

May 28th, 2008

I think that’s about all for me tonight.  I got done what I NEEDED to do, and have even babbled in here some.  Now it’s time to turn my attention to something else for now.

I will TRY to get back in here over the weekend, but I’m NOT going to guarantee that.  We’ll just have to see what is going on.

You all take care and have a good weekend!!!

Middle Of The Night - Part 18

May 28th, 2008

One of the FIRST things they did after he got out of the hospital was go see their insurance agent and see about getting a life insurance quote on some more life insurance.  After that, they went and got him something decent to eat and began to talk about what they were going to do next.

The talk turned to another subject later that evening….whether or not their son was going to be able to stay or not.  He took his “job” VERY seriously, and he was VERY dedicated to it.  His parents knew this.  But it had been a close call this time, and they ALL knew that the parents were starting to get older and show their age a little….they ALL knew that it was only a matter of time.

Busy….Very, VERY Busy!!!

May 28th, 2008

Yep, I would have to say that is how to describe our household here lately.  Seems like we are running all over the place, and some days, it seems as though we get NOTHING accomplished with all of our running around.  It looks like things will only stay as busy, or get even busier over the Summer too!!!

Spring-like temperatures have finally arrived!!!  We haven’t had our heat on in SEVERAL days, though it WAS a tad cooler than it has been this morning.  We still didn’t turn the heat on!!!  It has been GREAT to be able to have the windows open!!!

As the Summer progresses, I find myself wondering how I am going to get it all done.  But I KNOW it WILL all get done.  We just have to take things one step at a time, one project at a time, and one DAY at a time, and try not to let the abundance of things needing to be done overwhelm us.

More later…maybe…..

Need Business Cards?

May 28th, 2008

I do…and probably will continue to need them.  I MIGHT even need them MORE in the future than I do right now.  Business cards are a nice way to increase your business, or just to get your name out there sometimes.  But, they have to look professional, and they need to look well-made.  A good looking business card, with the RIGHT logo on it for your business will help people to start associating that logo with YOUR business, which is a VERY valuable tool in the business world!!!  When I’ve gone to look into business cards before, I’ve never been happy with the logo design that has been available….until now!!! At Logoyes, you can customize your own business cards, JUST the way YOU want them. They have a FREE demonstration you can use, which allows you to play with your business card design BEFORE you buy. They have NUMEROUS options for a logo design, as well as fonts and colors. You can EASILY resize the logo you chose, AND your print, or even change the colors on them.  They have LOTS of business card templates that you can choose from to choose JUST the right look for YOUR card.  I went in and made a business card with the look that I wanted, and it took me less than 30 minutes, and I had NO idea what look I wanted on it!!!  I think that’s pretty good!!!  I LOVE using Logoyes because they have enough options for EVERYTHING needed to make a business card that’s right for YOU!!!  All in all, I LOVE this website!!!  Thanks for the GREAT opportunity to get acquainted with you and your services!!!

School Is Out!!!

May 28th, 2008

Well, school is out, at least for those in public school.  My buddy’s last day was this last Thursday.  I HAVE to admit that it’s been nice sleeping in the last couple of mornings!!!  We will be working on his reading, as well as several other things over the Summer, and we’ll see what happens.  Hopefully, the Summer doesn’t go by TOO fast, but it’s already looking like we’re going to have ALOT happening, so I expect it WILL go by fairly quickly.  But we will try to take one day at a time, and enjoy as much of it as we can!!!  And maybe things will settle down some in the not-to-distant future!!!….*crosses her fingers*

Middle Of The Night - Part 17

May 28th, 2008

As the next several days went by, there were LOTS of jokes and laughter in the hospital room.  It got so the nurses seemed to avoid his room because they KNEW they’d be laughing when they came out.  When he was released from the hospital a few days later, they all made the most of it.  The camera was brought out and LOTS of pictures of taken.  Now that they had found some Snapfish coupons, it’s wasn’t such a pain to get the pictures developed!!!

Sunshine?

May 28th, 2008

Well, after 3 or 4 days of rain, and better than 4 inches of rain total in that time, we are FINALLY seeing peaks of sunshine through the clouds tonight!!!  It would be good if it dried out a tad before it rained any more!!!  It’s a tad…shall we say….soggy, out there?  My ducks and my goose are happy, though!!!  They’ve got a lake out there in their pen that they just LOVE splashing around in!!!

Middle Of The Night - Part 16

May 28th, 2008

The doctor came and made his rounds for the morning after breakfast.  The doctor, of course, was more than pleasantly surprised when he checked in for the morning and found his patient was awake and feeling decent.  As he was getting ready to leave, he was posed with a question that he hadn’t been expecting from his patient….”So, since I’m better, Doc, can I take a vacation to the Outer Banks?”  The son snickered as the wife scolded him.  “You should know you’re not up to a vacation right now.”  The doctor and nurse broke out in laughter, and continued to laugh as they left the room.

I Think….

May 21st, 2008

…that it’s about time to get some stuff done around the house here.  Need to see if I can try to mow for a couple of hours sometime today too.  The grass has decided that it is FINALLY going to start growing, and now we’re having to mow about once a week or so in order to keep the yard looking halfway nice.  Otherwise, we have a jungle started and I’m afraid the tigers might jump out and eat me…..*LOL*  Okay, maybe not, but I’m SURE there’s monkeys out there….Anybody seen my son and my nieces lately?….*LOL*….*looks around*….

Well, folks, I think I’m off to start the washer and clean a bit before I try to go mow for awhile.  You all take care, and I’ll TRY not to make it so long in between entries!!!

Middle Of The Night - Part #15

May 21st, 2008

They finally brought breakfast in, and he realized he was hungrier than 3 bears.  He didn’t remember when he had eaten last, but breakfast, even though it was hospital food, sure did taste good.  As he sat there after breakfast, relaxing, he started wishing that he was home with his mattress topper. The hospital bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.  He didn’t know when the doctor would be in for his morning rounds, but he was anxious to see when he could go home.
