It’s About Time For…

February 28th, 2008

….a tall glass of something coolish to drink, and 5 minutes of peace to myself before Dad gets home…and then bed for a few hours before our day starts all over again.

Don’t have much planned tomorrow, at least as of right now.  Get Dad to work first thing in the morning, and my buddy to school, probably, and then spend the day cleaning and catching up on stuff around here.  Have a letter to get in the mail, too, as well as a couple of bills.  Get my bank statement done, and maybe….just maybe….sit down and read a chapter or two of Bible and/or out of a book I’m reading.

More tomorrow….

Just What Is A….?

February 28th, 2008

….used cisco, anyway.  Is it something having to do with technology?  Alot of things do have SOMEthing to do with technology these days, even if they aren’t directly related to technology itself.  Then again, somethings AREN’T related to technology.  Those are very few and far between these days, though.  Maybe used cisco is having something to do with cars?  That would be interesting, wouldn’t it?  Oh well, guess you need to go visit the website to see what it is, huh?

Long Day…again

February 28th, 2008

Seems to be the story of our lives these days, but I guess it keeps us out of trouble, doesn’t it.

Not much actually happened today.

The weather was half-way nice again, though it was cloudy all day.  I was REALLY hoping for some sunshine, but we never got any.  Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

The neighbor from up the street came down this afternoon for a bit.  She just came down to chat, for the most part.  It was good to see her feeling better, as she has been having some minor health problems for the last 2 or 3 or 4 months!!!  At least she’s feeling good enough to come visit occassionally now!!!

A Dream Come True

February 27th, 2008

That’s what he was thinking as he wandered through the interior of his new home…that it was a dream come true!!!  From the master bedroom with it’s queen sized bed and master bathroom with it’s whirlpool tub, to the home theater, with real home theater seating, to the popcorn machine that went with the home theater.  The kitchen was almost stainless steel everything, from the sink to the refrigerator and stove.  The pantry was FULLY stocked with just about every food imagineable.  Yep, his dreams had finally become reality!!!

Still Around

February 27th, 2008

Yep, we’re still around.  Just have been kind of busy the last several days.  And the weather has continued to be mostly cold, which has done NOTHING for getting me enthused to do much beyond all of the necessities.

The weather was warmer today, though.  It was ACTUALLY ALMOST pleasant outside for awhile.  Kind of enjoyed the sunshine today!!!  It was nice to be able to get out and clean at least part of the trash out of my car and be outside for a bit!!!!

His Baby

February 27th, 2008

Yep, that’s what she was….his baby.  He had pampered her, and decked her out in all the latest fashion while leaving as much as possible original.  He had found only the best in wood dash kits, interior fabrics, body paint, tires, rims, and other numerous items for her.  What is his baby, you ask?  Why only the best looking 1969 GTO in the state, of course!!  What more could a guy dream for?

Sunday Scribblings #99

February 24th, 2008

Passion…that’s a BROAD subject for this week!!

Some people have passion about other people…their significant other…their children.  Other people have passion for a particular school subject….I would HAVE to say that mine, if I HAD to pick one, would be American history…or math…or spelling.  Other people have a passion for art or music or beautiful clothing, or even beautiful houses.  Some people have a passion for travelling.

Yep, a VERY broad subject!!!

OUCH!!!

February 24th, 2008

All he could think of as he looked at the steaming heap of tangled metal is how much his auto insurance was going to go up.  It wasn’t his fault, but that didn’t seem to make much of a difference to the insurance companies these days.  Nobody got hurt, but that didn’t seem to make much difference either.  The GOOD thing, even though his beloved car looked like it would be totalled, was that no one DID get hurt.  There would be NO way that he would be able to replace that car though.  It had been one that he’d gotten when he was in high school, and he’d babied her…and pampered her…and taken EXTREMELY good care of her.  They didn’t make them like THAT anymore!!

Sunday Scribblings #98…Sleep…Or Lack Thereof

February 24th, 2008

Okay, so I’m a couple of days late on this Sunday Scribblings, but at least I’m doing it!!!

This is a GOOD prompt for me, ’cause I can talk about a subject that is almost ALWAYS in the back of my mind, probably because I don’t normally get a whole lot.  There are days when I think sleep is over-rated.  I mean, other than necessity of course, why do we spend a third of our lives doing….nothing?  There are nights when I get very little, if any….but then I normally make up for it somewhere along the line.  What causes sleeplessness anyway?  There are times I wish I knew the answer to that question!!

Maybe I’ll come back some other time and tell you what I do when I can’t sleep….maybe I’ll do that during one of my sleepless nights?

Cables

February 24th, 2008

Have you ever noticed how our lives are filled with NUMEROUS cables these days?  Cables are the things that connect us with the internet, radio, T.V., and MANY more things.  There are LOTS of different types of cables.  You might take a look around your house and see how many YOU have.  You might have audio cables, video cables, fiber optic cables, USB cables, phone cables, and any NUMBER of others.
