Vacation - Part 3

December 11th, 2007

As she entered the first night in a hotel on her vacation, she noticed the very comfortable looking lobby, which even had several different types of espresso machines.  She got the key to her room, and as she walked down the hallway to where the clerk told her that her room would be, she noticed the new carpets on the floors, and new paint on the ceilings and walls.  She noticed the new doors on every room with the new keycard locks.  Inside her room, she noticed the new flat screen television, the new massage head on the new shower/tub, the new blankets and sheets on the beds, the new pillows.  This place sure didn’t seem to spare any expense when remodelling.

Today Is About Over…

December 11th, 2007

…and the weather isn’t ending any better than it started.  We are still getting freezing rain, and it’s starting to cool off a little bit too, which means all that rain and freezing rain that we’ve gotten today is going to freeze.  I think tomorrow is going to be another GREAT stay-at-home day!!!

School went okay today.  It was different for us with Dad being home, but we got it all done anyway.  We are counting down the pages left in the Kindergarten material!!!  Oh, my buddy DID miss one problem on his Math paper this morning…because he wasn’t paying attention.  Gave him an 87% on that page, though, as there wasn’t many on that page to start with.  When I had him go back and do it right, though, after we talked about it, he got 100%!!!  Shouldn’t bring his score down TOO much!!!  That’s only like the second problem in what 3 months or something that he’s missed.  I guess we have to expect him to miss one here and there, don’t we?  And it’s NOT because he didn’t know how to do the problem…he just wasn’t paying attention.  It’s going GREAT, though!!!  And I am SOOOO thankful that we don’t have to be concerned about whether school is in session and if the busses are running and such!!!  Thank God for home schooling!!!

Anyway….more rambling later, or tomorrow, I think….

Vacation - Part 2

December 11th, 2007

As she made the list of items that she needed to get for vacation, she tried to remember everything that she had wanted to put on that list.  She had to get a couple of extra camcorder batteries and DVD’s to record onto. She had to get some flashlight batteries and portable radio batteries too. She wanted to get some snacks to take along for while she was travelling.  And she had to make sure the car was all fueled up and ready to go for morning.

I Don’t Know If You’ve Noticed…

December 11th, 2007

…or not, but I’ve done a couple of minor changes to my page.  My biggest change, at THIS point, is probably the addition of another category…”All Unsponsored Entries”.  This category is going to be the “one click link” to ALL of my entries that aren’t sponsored.  So you can weed out my “advertisements” and get down to reading the REAL rambling!!!

Keep watching for more updates!!  There WILL be changes here and there, as time and inclination allows!!

Vacation

December 11th, 2007

As she looked through the paper, she saw ads for ALL sorts of things.  Ads for everything from rental properties to properties for sale, everything from airline tickets to hotels in Vegas, everything from Boxer puppies to firewood for sale.  Yep, the classified ads held her interest for QUITE a while, as she sat reading the paper and thinking about her upcoming vacation.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Okay, now I HAVE to get to Sam’s Club shortly after the first of the new year!!!  I used all the cinnamon we had in the raisin bread, and being out of cinnamon is like a crime in this house.  That’s almost as bad as being out of potatoes or peanut butter.  It DOESN’T happen!!!  I’ll get a container when we go to the store, but the containers we can normally get at the regular store don’t last very long in this house…..soooooo, Sam’s Club, here we come!!!

Sunday Scribblings #88

December 11th, 2007

Competition is not always a bad thing, though it CAN be.  I used to LOVE watching football when I was younger.  Anybody else remember Joe Montana and Jerry Rice?  And I loved to watch horse racing!!!  I know…WHAT a combination!!!  What can I say?

Competition between two people can be bad, though…if it’s between siblings, or co-workers vying for that promotion.  Sometimes, competition drives people to do things that they wouldn’t do otherwise…and that’s when competition can turn into a bad thing.

Okay, so this entry isn’t the best for Sunday Scribblings, but we’re not in competition, are we?….*L*

Computer Security

December 11th, 2007

If you have often wondered, like many of us, what the best computer security program is that protects against viruses, spyware, adware, malware and all those other things that are out to get into your computer, then I have the website for you!!!  Software Security Solutions has come to the same conclusion that I have, I think….that there is NO one GOOD program to protect against everything.  So they created NOD32. Through research and testing, they have found the best programs in all of the major categories for viruses and spyware and such, and they have them all in one place!!! No longer is the consumer left wondering which one is best…the testing and research has been done for you!! And, if you have problems, they have an outstanding customer support system to help you through your problem!!!

We Decided On…

…raisin bread instead of the spice cake.  So we got that going.  It’s now rising for a bit, and then we’ll put it in pans and make the house smell all cinnamony.

Got school done.  It went good again today.  We will DEFINITELY be done with the “Kindergarten” material by Christmas!!!  GOOD timing, don’t you think?  Start a new year, and start a new set of books!!!

Will brave the weather and do animals pretty here shortly.

More rambling later….

Stay-Home-Weather!!

December 11th, 2007

Yep, this is DEFINITELY stay-home-weather.  It rained or sleeted or something all night, starting yesterday evening, and it’s raining at the moment.  Supposed to be cooling off, temperature wise, after noon, so all of this water will probably be turning to ice even faster, and then we are supposed to have snow on top of that tonight.  I am SOOOOO glad I don’t have to go anywhere, ’cause I wouldn’t be going anywhere anyway!!!

More later….
