Almost The End…
September 28th, 2007…Of month #1, and my buddy is doing GREAT!!! It’s been 3 weeks (or so) since he has missed ANY on his work, which means he’s been getting 100%’s on ALL of his pages!!! AND, in Letters and Sounds (which is basically a phonics workbook), he has gotten to where he is reading MOST of the words in his work section ALL BY HIMSELF!!! He has gotten REALLY good at sounding a word out and recognizing that it’s a word!!
We’ve been doing art projects, here and there too!! And decorating my window for the Fall/Halloween season!!! Nothing fancy, but it makes him use his head and figure out what he wants to use and how he wants to use it. On one of them, we used foamy-type stickers on sheets of construction paper to make “posters”. On one poster, he made a tree out of the words “Trick Or Treat” and Pumpkins for the leaves. On the other one, he punched out the top of little candy sack stickers and used them for mouths, and we made faces on ALL the pumpkins. I thought it was pretty cool, the way he used them.
