Roofing

August 30th, 2007

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hire a roofer?  I have, especially lately.  We’ve moved into this new house, that is ACTUALLY a HOUSE, and if we were buying it, like we’ve thought about, we would have to think about shingles and rolled roofing, and tar and such.  I have not hired a roofer myself, but I’m SURE that, somewhere along the line, if I don’t learn how to do it myself, I might have too.  And I would be checking his credentials and such, you can be SURE!!!  This website for roofers all over the United States might be able to help you find a qualified roofer in Columbus OH Roofer, or any area.  They can give you tips and advice about hiring a roofer, which MIGHT come in handy for someone like me!!!  So if you find that you need a roofer to stop the leaks from all the rain this Spring, why don’t you check them out and see what they can do for you!!  You might be surprised at what you find that they can offer you!!  Or keep them in mind for the NEXT time you DO need a roofer!!!

Tired

August 30th, 2007

Yep, that’s what I am tonight…tired….again.  It has been a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggg day, but a decent one!!!

My buddy and I got schooling done today, with FLYING colors, I might add (more details on that later), and then we played outside for a bit…and then I decided that we might as well mop the kitchen floor so it could dry while we were outside playing, so we did that.  And he helped me sweep and did a GREAT job!!!  He is SOOOOOO much help when you let him be!!  I REALLY appreciate his help!!

Then we walked up the street and delivered a picture that he drew to one of the neighbor ladies, who is on some new medicine and NOT feeling up-to-par.

All in all, it was a pretty good day!!!  AND, we are planning on going to move the horses tomorrow!!!  My buddy and I are BOTH excited about that!!!  They are going to be closer than they have been in about 15 years!!!  It is going to be SOOOO nice to have them so close!!!  And a BIG THANK YOU goes out to our neighbor who is helping us!!!

Well, all, time to do another entry, me thinks, that’s paid, and then hit the bedstead and try to get a tad of rest before morning comes!!!  We’ll catch up with you all soon!!!….*hugs* to those that normally get them

End Of Summer Items

August 30th, 2007

As the temperatures start to cool off, and there is a hint of Fall in the air occassionally, I find myself looking for deals on Summer items.  I’ve found that if I can get stuff AFTER the season, instead of BEFORE the season, I can normally find it for a WHOLE lot less than normal.  With being in a new house, I’ve been thinking about some Wind Chimes.  There are some other items I’ve been looking at too, and of course, with Halloween and Fall coming, I find myself window shopping for things to fit the coming season.  Check out the website and see what you think…You MIGHT just find yourself a bargain that you can’t pass up!!!

Day #2 Of Home Schooling!!!

August 28th, 2007

Well, we OFFICIALLY started the school year yesterday.  Even though he was still tired from the weekend, my buddy wanted to do school, so we did it.  And I HAVE to say that he did FANTASTIC!!!  We took SEVERAL breaks yesterday, but he did EVERYTHING I asked him too…and did it with flying colors!!!  And today was even better!!!

I had kind of figured out approximately how many pages we should do every week before we started, and kind of put them into “weekly” lesson plans.  In the last two days, he has finished ALL the pages that I had planned for week #1 on both Math AND Letters and Sounds, which is basically phonics!!!  I have allotted a certain amount of time for each subject, in SMALL increments, so he won’t get bored, and he is just lapping up all the work I can give him.  He is REALLY enjoying being able to use the counting skills and such that he already knows to do these pages!!  He did 3 pages in both Math AND Letters and Sounds today, and he got 100% on ALL the pages!!!  What more can I ask from my boy?…*proud smile*

We do some other stuff too, of course, but at THIS point, Math and Letters and Sounds are our most important subjects that we have workbook pages for.  We do some writing practice also, but I really don’t grade that, other than “Satisfactory” or not.  If it’s not satisfactory, we do the page over.

I couldn’t have asked for a better couple of days from my boy!!!  He’s been MORE than willing, and he’s been listening closely to directions (especially today, because we had an issue with that yesterday on Math!!), and he’s been doing GREAT!!!

The pages are all graded and organized for the day, and I think it’s about time to lock up the ducks and my goose and go try to lay down for awhile.  6A.M. came early again this morning!!  And tomorrow, we’ll get up and do it ALL over again, and my boy is going to do SUPER great again tomorrow!!!….*big proud smile*

You all have a good evening, and we’ll keep you posted (or try too) on how it’s going.  Thanks for the notes, for those of you that have left notes!!!  *hugs to those that normally get them

Hard To Find Tickets

August 27th, 2007

When I was younger, I could have told you who had won the last SuperBowl, as well as the last Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes AND who had won 7 races in the last Breeder’s Cup.  Unfortuneately, my passion for football and horse racing fell to the side of the road somewhere along the line, between getting seriously involved, and then having a son.  Frankly, I couldn’t even tell you how many teams are in the NFL right now, let alone who won the last SuperBowl.  Maybe some day in the not-to-distant future, I’ll be able to get back into watching the one or two sports that I REALLY enjoyed years ago.  And MAYBE, just MAYBE, I’ll have the opportunity to see a horse race or a football game live.  I’ve been told that some of those are VERY hard to find tickets for, but I’ve found a terrific website that should be able to help with that.  Tickets of America is a website that has a motto, which just happens to be “We’re Never Sold Out”.  They guarantee that you will not miss that special live event that you can’t find tickets for anywhere else.  Whether it’s a sporting event, a concert, or a theater event, they are able to get tickets for you WORLDWIDE!!!  You can order off their website, or you can call their toll-free number to get your tickets.  So, the next time YOU need tickets to an event that you’re finding it hard to GET tickets too, check them out!!  They might be able to help YOU too!!

Hellooooo??

August 21st, 2007

Anybody out there?  Okay, people, I KNOW there are some of you reading at least PART of my entries, but nobody has left me a note in awhile.  Kind of feels like I’m talking to myself some days….*L*  Okay, here’s the deal:  If you read on a half-way regular basis, at LEAST leave me a note every once in a while, okay??  THANKS!!!

Oh, Welllll….

August 21st, 2007

Well, it looks like I have my house back, even at night.  My Sister has found someone else to watch her girls while she is working.  My thoughts on this?  Hmmmmm…haven’t really decided yet, except I DID like having MY house back so that it was just me and my boy again last night!!!  I hope this new babysitter works out WELL for her!!!

Wall Clocks

August 20th, 2007

Now that we are into a house with more space, I have ALWAYS admired grandfather clocks, and other clocks of that type.  If I ever had the money, I’d LOVE to get something like this one:  Ridgeway Clock!!

I didn’t have ANY idea of where I would even start LOOKING for one of those types of clocks, until I ran across Clocks at 1-800-4CLOCKS.  They have a great selection of different clocks.  Clocks at 1-800-4CLOCKS has wall clocks, like your grandfather and grandmother clocks, atomic clocks, ALL NEW clocks, all antique clocks, and more.  They have SEVERAL different brands available, and they are authorized dealers for the clocks they sell!!  They have financing available on clocks that cost more than $500.  They also have free USA shipping, and FREE in-home set-up on grandfather clocks.  They are members of the Better Business Bureau Reliability Program, which should help take away some of those fears of buying from an “unknown website”.  They have also been featured on “The Today Show”, AND in the New York Times!!  They accept several different payment methods, including PayPal!!!  How much easier could they make it to own that family heirloom you’ve always wanted?

So, if you’re like me, and have always wanted a clock to hand down, from generation to generation, check them out!!!  They have a low price guarantee, so you CAN’T really lose!!

Home Schooling

August 20th, 2007

Yes, I get to home school my boy!!!  I’ve been debating the possibility of using this as my “home schooling blog”.  I’ve seen people that actually scan their children’s papers and post them, with a summary of what they are doing, how they are doing, etc.  I haven’t decided if I am going to do that or not.  In one way, it sounds like a good idea….but in another way, it sounds like it would require ALOT of time.  I will probably be posting a little bit on here about what my boy is doing and how he’s doing and so forth, but I’m NOT sure how in depth it’s going to be.  Only time will tell, I guess.  Once we get the “school year” started, we’ll see how it’s going, and that will probably decide better how much I will post on here.  Stay tuned for more on home schooling!!!
