Struggling To Find Ourselves

Okay, I’m not sure if I’m just getting soft, or whether it’s TRULY HOT out there today….but it seems like it’s about 500 degrees with 5001% humidity.  My thermometer on my porch says about 102 degrees.  It was humid enough here in the house, and getting warm enough that it was getting a little…..hmmmm….shall we say “sticky”.  I turned on the air conditioner on here in the livingroom.  We hadn’t turned it on since we moved in this house, so I wanted to see how it worked.  It seems to work pretty well.  I’ve got it set on “low” and got the thermostat turned to where it will turn on and off automatically, and it IS turning off, occassionally.  Actually, it’s off longer than it is on, I think.  How COOL is that?!?!  Mainly, it’s just to help take some of the humidity out of the air.  The temperature in the house was hanging right around 80 degrees according to my thermometer, and you could still feel the coolness when you came in from outside, but it was DEFINITELY humid.  So we have a tad of humidity control on for awhile.  Hopefully, we can turn it off here pretty soon, when it starts cooling off this evening….but we’ll see.  Can’t afford to run up the light bill TOO much, but also want to be RELATIVELY comfortable.  Up to THIS point, the livingroom has been comfortable….it’s just the humidity today, me thinks.

Some things were said to me last night that make me need some encouragement.  I was just scanning through my entries here and found an entry that I had done a while back that is in the “Inspirational/Encouragment” category.  And you know what?  It is EXACTLY what I needed to hear this morning!!!  I WILL probably re-read it again later after schooling is done, and when there’s a little less distraction.  Thank God for archives!!!

What better way to back up your computer than through a site that encrypts your information?  That makes it a WHOLE lot harder for your information to be used by someone else.

And UNLIMITED storage?  A GREAT alternative to trying to copy everything from your hard disk onto CD’s!!!

My son and I went to church across the street from our house last week.  We wouldn’t have gone if it hadn’t been for one of the neighbors who was walking down the street saw my son outside and asked if he could go to church with her.  I told her it was okay, if he wanted to go, which he did.  And I just kind of tagged along a couple of minutes behind them.

Anyway, the reason I told you that is that the Pastor told a story that was kind of funny.  He told of a young Pastor who was just getting into the ministry and was wondering what he was supposed to say, especially at weddings, which he was eager for.  The young Pastor was talking to an older, wiser Pastor about his…..unsureness….of what he was supposed to say.  And the young Pastor mentioned to the older Pastor that he was kind of nervous about forgetting what he was supposed to say next.  The older Pastor gave him some wise advice…..He told the younger Pastor that, if he ever forgot what he was supposed to say next, all he had to do was quote Scripture.  ESPECIALLY at weddings, the older Pastor told him, ALL Scriptures are a good choice to quote.  Well, a short time later, the younger Pastor had the opportunity to perform his first wedding.  Everything went smoothly until he got to the part where he was supposed to say “I now pronounce you man and wife”.  His mind went blank and he started to panic.  Remembering what the older Pastor had told him…that he could quote Scripture to fill in until he remembered what he was supposed to say…..the younger Pastor quoted the first verse that came to mind….

Hmmmm…where to start?  So much to talk about…so much I’m not sure about talking about here….so little time!!!

It rained this morning again.  Seems like that’s all we’ve had for weather this Spring.  My gladiolus’ liked it though!!!  They are blooming so prettily!!!  My lilies have been doing blooming for a couple of weeks or more now.  And my iris’, well, I’m not sure they ARE going to bloom this year.  They’ve come up, but they just don’t seem to be getting with the program enough to bloom.  Oh well, HOPEFULLY, they will come back stronger and better NEXT year, and will bloom like crazy.

Yep, I’m tired tonight.  It’s been a loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg day!!!

We took Dad to the airport today.  He should be about half-way to his destination by now.  Catches a Greyhound for the majority of the distance left at 6A.M.  Wish we could have gone along!!!

Have thunder tonight.  NICE lightning show going on outside, and here I sit, doing a couple of entries, one of which I HOPE to get paid for!!!  Would LOVE to just sit outside my front door and watch it for a bit in the cool breeze that’s kicked up in the last 30 minutes or so, but I’m NOT sure if I’ll get that chance or not tonight.

Would go to bed, but NEED to read some Bible tonight.  But wanted to pop on here and check the weather first, and check and see if there were any paid entries that I could do.  Will read at least a chapter here after bit.

Other than that, not much going on, other than wondering what I’m going to do with myself while Dad’s gone….will probably have that figured out about the time he gets back.
