Another College Prep?

February 6th, 2010

Okay, I’m not exactly sure what a GMAT prep is, but it sounds like it’s another college preparation course.  As one who has “gone back to school” as an adult, I have a very good understanding (in MY mind) of what it takes to be in college of ANY kind.  In this day and age, I think EVERYONE should have the opportunity to either continue their education, or to go back to school.  This is a day and age of almost HAVING to have extra training in technology or computers or other such things to get a decent paying job.  The more schooling and education that you can verify, the better!!!

God Bless!!!

A What?

February 6th, 2010

Okay, I’m not QUITE sure what a BCBG Max Azria is, but it REALLY sounds like one of these weirdly named new cars.  Or maybe it’s the model of a new computer system?  A refrigerator?  A new game system?  Maybe is the name of a travel trailer?  Or motorhome?  Hmmmmmm….maybe it’s a food?….*wrinkles her nose*….Okay, maybe not…it sure doesn’t sound all that appetitizing, does it?

God Bless, all….have a GREAT weekend!!!

A Visitor

February 6th, 2010

Greetings!!!  Today, we greet a visitor from the Outer Banks rental area.  I’m afraid that he is a tad different than most of the rest of us.  His skin is purplish with bluish hair, and he seems to have 6 fingers on his hands.  He doesn’t wear clothing as we humans do.  From what I can see, his “body” must be somewhat opposite of ours, because where our heads are is what appears to be his legs, or his arms (I can’t decide which).  Where our feet are is a triangular shaped object that has something that resembles hair.  His “hands” are kind of rectangular shaped.  Hmmmmm…sounds like an interesting character, don’t you think?  What I’m wondering is:  Is he a visitor from outer space, or is he from a big city?

God Bless!!!

A What?

February 5th, 2010

Okay, I have heard of ALOT of different promotional items, but never have I heard of or seen any promotional umbrellas.  In certain areas of the world, though, I can see where giving out umbrellas could be a VERY useful thing!!!  I wonder who came up with the idea of these promotional umbrellas?  Who came up with the idea of promotional items of ANY time?  What ELSE will they start giving out as promotional items?  Maybe handbags or backpacks?  If you’re household is anything like ours is, your house ALWAYS has a bunch of miscellaneous promotional items, from ball-point pens to magnets to bumper stickers to note pads.  I think I’m going to have to get us one of these promotional umbrellas, though.

God Bless!!!

And….Maybe Too?

February 2nd, 2010

And, while I’m getting my car insurance changed, I might as well go ahead and check into getting another life insurance policy too!!!  Ahhhhhh, sooooo many things to think about these days!!!  And all of the information on all of these things requires a change whenever you move to a different house, whenever you get married, or divorced, or have a child, or if a beneficiary dies.  I have found there is SOOOOO much to keep up with these days that ALOT of people have become preoccupied with all of the “static” around them and have lost sight of what SHOULD be the important things in their life….God, their spouse/partner, their children, and enjoying their life with the first three listed.  Do YOU get caught up in all of the “static” around you?  Take time today to slow down and smell the roses, or enjoy a gentle rainstorm….take 5 minutes for yourself to destress and think about YOU, for a change!!!
Blessings!!!

Changes

February 2nd, 2010

With the changes that have been going on in our lives the last several months, AND the changes that are coming in the near future, I have found a need to see about changing the way my auto insurance is.  I’m not sure if I’m going to change companies yet, or just change the policy to where it’s a policy with just my vehicle on it.  I will do one or the other….it will just depend upon how we can get the best deal and save the MOST money!!!

Blessings in ABUNDANCE!!!

Safety

February 2nd, 2010

They tell me that one of the best ways to stay keep your home safe while you are gone is by getting home security systems installed.  I don’t know how true that is.  It seems like it would be logical.  But what I really wonder sometimes is how safe are you when you are home with a home security system installed?  Of course, having a dog helps, they say, even if the dog is non-agressive.  I prefer to have geese for my “watch dogs”.  Of course, most towns haven’t gotten to where they will allow geese….which is sad, if you ask me.

Blessings!!!

We’re Looking….

January 23rd, 2010

….VERY slowly for furniture for the house that we moved into a few months ago.  We want it to be decent furniture that adds to the place.  Alot of the furniture that’s out there is what we call “modern furniture“, but we are looking for something a bit more….old fashioned…rustic-looking. We’ve got hardwood floors in most of our rooms, and we would like something, furniture-wise, that will compliment the floors, as well as the curtains I am making that have a nature scene on them.

Have a BLESSED weekend!!!

I Have To Admit…

January 23rd, 2010

….When we bought our newest refrigerator here about 4 or 5 months ago, I was a little upset that the ones that we liked all had ice makers in them.  I had never had an ice maker in my fridge before, but I had gotten GOOD at making ice the old fashioned way….in ice cube trays.  I saw no need for an ice maker.  They just take up space in the freezer that I could and would RATHER use for food or homemade ice cream or something like that.  But, as it turns out, when we got our new fridge a few months ago, we ended up getting one with an ice maker in it.  And, wouldn’t you know it?  It was one of those models that’s not designed to be taken out.  Soooooooo, I decided that it was there…taking up VALUABLE freezer space, so why not put it to use?  So we did.  Now, I still don’t know much about ice makers, other than they make ice, and some take a MWF filter and some don’t, but I DO like the option of having ice ALL the time!!! We’ll see if the ice maker can keep up with our ice useage this Summer, though!!!

God Bless!!!

This Is SMART!!!

January 21st, 2010

I recently had a friend of mine tell me that he had told his parents when he was a teenager that he wanted a motorcycle.  Their response?  Of course, I was interested in their response, because I have a son who will soon be getting up to that age.  He told me that they had told him that he was going to be the one cleaning the blood off of it.  And yes, they did find him his first motorcycle, and yes, it DID have blood on it.  I often wonder if the guy that had the motorcycle before my friend needed a motorcycle accident lawyer?  Thankfully, my friend apparently hasn’t needed on, and is no longer a fan of motorcycles!!!

God Bless!!!
